Your privacy is extremely important to us. This Privacy Policy explains how our Chrome extension (KeySwitch) handles your data. We believe in complete transparency and have designed our extension to ensure your data stays where it belongs: on your local device.

1. Information Collection and Use

KeySwitch is a productivity tool designed to convert accidentally mistyped text between keyboard layouts (Hebrew and English character mapping). To perform this function, the extension operates under the following rules:

• No Text Tracking/Logging: The extension only reads the specific text that you have actively selected or entered when triggering the conversion via a keyboard shortcut or context menu. It processes this text in-memory to swap the characters and immediately replaces it in the active field. Your text is never recorded, logged, or saved.
• No Keystroke Logging: While the extension listens for your specific keyboard shortcut to activate the conversion, it does not monitor, track, or record your general typing activity.
• No Browsing History Access: Although the extension requires host permissions to function across different websites, it does not track, read, or save the URLs or contents of the websites you visit.

2. Local Storage

The extension utilizes the Chrome Extension Storage API (chrome.storage.local) to store only two types of data locally on your device:

• Your customized keyboard shortcut preferences (if modified).
• A local activation counter used solely to determine when to display an occasional donation prompt after extended use.

This data is never uploaded to any remote server and stays strictly inside your local browser profile.

3. Third-Party Sharing

Because we do not collect any user data, we do not sell, trade, or transfer any information to third parties. There are no tracking scripts, analytics tools, or third-party advertisements embedded within the extension.

The extension may display an optional donation button linking to PayPal. If you choose to click it, you leave the extension and PayPal's own privacy policy applies.

4. Regulatory Compliance (GDPR / CCPA)

We respect global privacy rights, including the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA). Since KeySwitch operates entirely locally, you maintain absolute control over your data. You can erase all stored preferences and counters at any time by clearing your browser cache or uninstalling the extension.

We may update our Privacy Policy from time to time. Any changes will be reflected by updating the "Effective Date" at the top of this page.
